HEXA App Privacy Policy

This policy covers the HEXA Control app for iPhone and Android ("the app"), made by Hexa Lighting Pty Ltd ("HEXA", "we"). It explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have. Our website privacy policy covers purchases on hexalighting.com.au.

What the app collects

  • Your account: if you create an account or sign in with Google (or Apple, when available), we receive your name, email address and an account ID. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; HEXA never sees them.
  • Your lights and settings: the names you give your lights, their layout, the Bluetooth ID of each controller, your saved scenes, favourite effects and saved colours. These are stored on your phone (and in your phone's own backups, if you use them). HEXA never receives them.
  • Bluetooth: the app uses Bluetooth to find and control your HEXA lights. It does not use Bluetooth or GPS to track where you are. Some Android phones require Location permission before any Bluetooth search is allowed; the app does not read or store your location.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your information.
  • The app shows no advertising and contains no advertising or tracking software.
  • We do not collect your contacts, photos, microphone audio or precise location. Music mode uses a microphone on the light's controller (built in or plugged in), never your phone's microphone.

How we use it

  • To sign you in and keep your account secure.
  • To show member deals in the Deals tab. Prices are loaded from hexalighting.com.au, and links from the app are tagged so we can see that a visit came from the app.
  • To reply when you contact us for help.

Where it is stored

Account details are stored by Google Firebase, a service of Google LLC, which may store data on servers outside Australia. Light settings stay on your phone (and in your phone's own backups, if you use them); HEXA never receives them.

Your choices

  • Use it as a guest: you can explore the app and try the demo light without an account.
  • Delete your account: in the app, open Account, then Delete account. This permanently removes your account from our sign in service.
  • Access or correct your information: email us and we will respond within 30 days.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

Anyone can use HEXA Control. Accounts are for people 13 and over. Younger family members can use the lights as a guest or on a parent's account. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13 or collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
