Installation Guide
Hexagon Lighting Installation Guide Australia
HEXA Lighting hexagon lighting systems are designed to be the safest and easiest hexagon lights to install in Australia. Our plug-and-play hexagon lighting design allows for simple DIY installation using the supplied AU plug lead, so the system can plug directly into a standard power socket. If you require your hexagon lighting to be hardwired to a switch or electrical circuit, installation must be completed by a qualified electrician. HEXA Lighting is trusted as Australia’s number one hexagon lighting brand for garages, workshops, detailing studios, gyms, showrooms and commercial spaces.

How to Install Hexagon Lighting
Follow these simple steps to assemble and install your HEXA Lighting hexagon light system. For best results, fully assemble and test the layout on the floor before mounting it to the ceiling or wall.
Assemble the Border First (If Your System Includes a Border)
If your HEXA Lighting hexagon lighting system includes a border frame, begin by assembling the straight border pieces first. Lay all border tubes on the floor before connecting them together. Border pieces are generally longer than the internal hexagon lighting tubes. Use the straight connectors and 90-degree elbow connectors to join the border pieces, making sure each tube is inserted fully into each connector. If your system does not include a border, skip to Step 3.
Install the Power Connector
Use a T-connector on the final corner of the border frame. This connection point will later be used to connect the hexagon lighting system to the power supply.
Build the First Hexagon
Lay out the internal HEXA grid pieces on the floor before connecting them together. Start with one corner and build your first hexagon using the two-way elbow connectors and three-way connectors. The three-way connectors should be used where the next hexagon will connect.
Complete the First Column
Continue assembling the hexagons vertically until you complete the first full column of the lighting design. Follow the pattern shown in the HEXA Lighting instruction manual included with your order.
Build the Remaining Columns
Construct each additional column of hexagon lights using the same process. Repeat until the full hexagon lighting pattern has been assembled on the floor.
Join the Full Hexagon Lighting Layout Together
Use the remaining LED tubes to join all columns horizontally and complete the full hexagon lighting diagram. Before mounting, check that the pattern matches your intended layout.
Test the System Before Mounting
HEXA Lighting recommends fully assembling and testing the entire hexagon lighting system on the floor before mounting it to the ceiling or wall. This helps confirm all connectors, tubes and power connections are installed correctly before final installation.
Mount the Hexagon Lighting System
If your HEXA grid includes a border, mount the border first to the ceiling or wall using the mounting holes in the connector pieces. Then mount the internal hexagon grid inside the border. If your system does not include a border, mount the entire hexagon lighting grid directly to the ceiling or wall using the supplied mounting points.
Connect to Power
Once mounted, connect the system to power. Most HEXA Lighting hexagon light kits include an AU plug for direct connection into a standard socket, making DIY installation fast and simple. If hardwiring is required, the final connection must be completed by a qualified electrician in accordance with Australian electrical standards.
